Process Engineer (f/m/d)
Your Responsibilities
Alingment Processes
- Develop and optimise manufacturing processes for fibre-optic modules and transceivers focusing on alignment processes
- Set up and oversee alignment processes for chip-to-fibre coupling
- Develop, qualify, install, and continuously improve production processes for fibre-optic modules and transceivers
- Define and implement chip-on-board and fibre-optic processes (including adhesives, encapsulation, curing, housing assembly, burn-in, etc.)
- Conduct fault analysis and electro-optical measurements
Burn-In and Test Processes
- Develop, perform, maintain, and enhance burn-in and testing procedures
- • Analyse and optimise burn-in process data
- Design PCBs for burn-in systems
- Program and adapt test stations
Assembly and General Processes
- Develop and optimise further assembly processes (chip-on-board, die bonding, mechanics, optics, adhesives, soldering)
- Responsible for selecting, sourcing, testing, and qualifying process-related materials (particularly adhesives, metals, plastics, thermoelectric pastes)
- Monitor processes, evaluate production data, and drive continuous improvement
- Design fixtures and implement automation solutions
What You Bring
- Degree (Diploma/Bachelor/Master) in optics, mechanics, microsystems engineering, assembly and interconnection technology, mechatronics, physics, or similar
- Experience in one or more of the fields: microtechnology, semiconductor and microsystems engineering, physics, assembly and interconnection technology, electronics, micro engineering, manufacturing and automation technology for fibre optics or sensors, mechatronics
- In-depth knowledge of optical alignment
- Sound knowledge of optical and electrical measurement technology
- Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
- Solid PC skills (Windows, MS Office)
- Excellent German (C1) both written & spoken
- Good English, both written and spoken
Ideally, you also have
- Programming skills in LabVIEW and .NET
- Experience in process development for optical data transmission systems
